At a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Kyrgyzstan's ambassador to Germany, Omurbek Tekebaev, reported a significant increase in trade turnover between the two countries, which has grown 5–10 times in recent years.
Tekebaev noted that during its work from 2022 to 2025, the diplomatic mission has observed changes in Germany's priorities regarding Kyrgyzstan, which has contributed to the activation of both political and trade relations.
“The trade turnover in 2018 was only 70–80 million dollars, but in recent years it has increased 5–10 times. This is related to changes in the geopolitical situation and the priorities of the countries. Based on our statistics, in 2023, the trade turnover reached 429 million dollars, while the German side cites a figure of 703 million dollars. We recorded a growth of 250%, however, recently there has been a slight decrease in volumes, which may be due to changes in the sanctions regime,” he added.
