In the country, there are over 200 sports federations operating, and in some disciplines, their number exceeds one. The State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports is initiating the introduction of national accreditation for these organizations, as reported by Nursultan Kurmanaly uulu at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of science, education, innovative development, culture, sports, and youth affairs.

The agenda includes a draft law on amendments to the existing law "On Physical Culture and Sports," which is currently in its first reading.

Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva emphasized the need for transparency in the accreditation process, including clear financial aspects and requirements. She noted that even federations not related to Olympic sports represent the country in international competitions; however, the state does not pay enough attention to their activities.

Nursultan Kurmanaly uulu added that accreditation would provide a legal basis for this process, but funding is not within its scope. "We rely on international experience. In neighboring countries, federations receive state accreditation for their work. This process was in place until 2017, after which it was canceled, leading to certain difficulties. For example, in one discipline, several federations were created that cannot coordinate their actions, resulting in conflicts. The criteria for accreditation will be developed after the draft law is adopted. Accreditation will only apply to those federations recognized by international organizations," he explained.

The deputy also raised a question about the number of federations in the country. "You mention federations that do not meet the criteria. But I am convinced that everyone has the right to engage in any sport and achieve success," she added.

In response, Nursultan Kurmanaly uulu noted that his words were misinterpreted. "We will recognize only one federation per sport if the draft law is adopted. For example, there is only one volleyball federation in Kyrgyzstan. However, there are several federations in karate, which causes athletes to face problems on the international stage by not passing accreditation, and this creates competition," he explained.
