This commemorative evening, according to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, was included in the list of anniversary events of national significance and was marked at the state level.
A solemn ceremony took place at the M. Ryskulov Naryn Regional Academic Musical and Dramatic Theater, during which monuments embodying the stage images of the artists were unveiled, and a photo exhibition was opened.
Initially, the participants of the evening were presented with information about the creative paths of Seyitkazy Andabekov and Koysun Karasartova, followed by performances by the theater actors of scenes and songs that became iconic for this legendary duo.
Seyitkazy Andabekov and Koysun Karasartova, who became famous for their folk songs and dances, were known not only in Kyrgyzstan but also in cities such as Moscow, Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi. From an early age, they were connected to the theater.
Koysun Karasartova began her career in the collective farm theater of Naryn, where she played the role of Kakey in the play "Sad Kakey" by Moldogazy Tokobaev. Throughout her life, she performed more than fifty songs and created around one hundred dramatic characters.
After returning from the war, Seyitkazy Andabekov became an artist at the Tian-Shan Regional Drama Theater in 1946. He became famous for performing folk songs and duets such as "Kantyng bar," "Chekmyrat," and "Zhashtyk." Throughout his career, he played more than one hundred different characters and established himself as a talented dramatic actor.
This star couple performed not only Kyrgyz but also Kazakh, Uighur, and Uzbek folk humorous songs and duets.
In 2015, a public foundation named "Kosh zhyldyz" was established in honor of the People's Artists of Kyrgyzstan Seyitkazy Andabekov and Koysun Karasartova.
