At the festival in Bishkek, the auditorium was full, and the audience showed genuine interest. After the screening of my film, questions began to pour in, which is always a delight. The viewers truly grasped and understood what I wanted to convey. The deep and meaningful questions confirmed that the film resonated — this is of immense importance to me as a director.
Impressions of Kyrgyzstan
Although we only managed to see a small part of Bishkek and its surroundings, the impressions were strong. The Alamedin Gorge, in particular, left a lasting impression — this place is simply mesmerizing. We spent the whole day there, walking about fifteen kilometers. The nature is stunning: mountains, clean air, light, and silence.
We also visited the Burana Tower. The path to it goes through a plain surrounded by the majestic Tian Shan mountains. This sight is truly unusual for us. In Moscow, everything is more even, while here the mountains seem to frame you, creating a sense that you are in a vast living space.
About the rhythm of the capital
Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to stroll around Bishkek, as the excursions took place outside the city. However, I noticed that this city has its own unique charm. The only downside might be the traffic jams. As I was told, they arise due to narrow streets and a large number of new buildings and cars. There are traffic jams in Moscow too, but there are interchanges built to bypass the congestion. Here, however, a solution to this problem has not yet been found, and you simply stand in a dense flow.
Nevertheless, the city is interesting. It combines Soviet architecture and Eastern traditions. Bishkek is gradually turning into a large metropolis, and this is noticeable.
About Kyrgyz cuisine
The national cuisine here is impressive. The dishes are tasty, simple, and understandable, with magnificent meat and fresh products. Everything is very heartfelt, and we enjoyed every meal — the food here is truly excellent.
Nature as a source of inspiration
Everything here is captivating. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time, but even in three days, Kyrgyzstan made a strong impression on me. The nature in this region is simply breathtaking. In the Alamedin Gorge, I felt the desire to make a film.
One of the most important aspects of cinema is the atmosphere. It depends on the director's vision, their mood, and many other factors. When the space aligns with the vision, everything starts to work, and it becomes truth. In the Alamedin Gorge, this atmosphere is already present — it is incredibly beautiful and alive.
I sincerely hope to return here and perhaps even shoot a film.
