The Nurmanbet Village Council was first named in 1991. The name "Nurmanbet" was given in honor of an ancestor of the clan who has lived in this territory for a long time. Previously, the village was called Ak-Boto, and later — Krasny Vostok.

As the director of Library No. 4 in the village of Nurmanbet, Asiya Momunalieva, explained, the Nurmanbet Village Council was established by its then-chairman Bektursun Bekturganov and approved at a session. The Nurmanbet clan and their descendants lived between the Kegeti and Issyk-Ata rivers.

According to archival data, the village council was first formed in 1927 under the name Ak-Boto. At that time, the Ak-Boto Village Council included 240 households. The population barely reached one thousand people. The first chairman was Ashyrbay Toktogulov. Then, in 1932, the chairman became Bekturgan Sadabaev. In 1936, the position was held by Karymbai Aydabosunov. After the war, the chairman was Jamangul Asylbekov. In 1955, the chairman became Oroskul Kurmanaliev, followed by Temirkul Andashev. In 1978, the chairman was Abdrazak Shambetov. From 1981 to 1991, the chairman was Bektursun Bekturganov. From 1991 to 2009, the village council was headed by Turdubek Temirkulovich Andashev. From 2009 to 2017, the chairman was Anarbek Zainidinovich Niyazov.

After the name Ak-Boto, the village was named Krasny Vostok. In 1991, it was given its current name — Nurmanbet.

In the village of Nurmanbet, there are: a group of family doctors, a kindergarten, a club, a school, a post office, an ambulance station, a football field, a gym, and a library. Four two-story houses built in 1979 have survived since the Soviet Union. The majority of residents are engaged in livestock breeding and agriculture.

Currently, the village of Nurmanbet has a population of 2,652 people.
