In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, there is the village of Konkino, as reported by a Turmush correspondent.

This settlement is part of the Yrdyk rural district and is located at an altitude of 1695 meters above sea level, approximately 28 kilometers from the central village of Kyzyl-Suu and 208 kilometers from the station of Balikchy. About 1000 people live in Konkino, which consists of around 146 families. The village has a school, a club, and a library.

The village was founded in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union, G.E. Konkin.

The local population is engaged in agriculture. Until 1969, there was no school in the village, so children were educated in the neighboring village. Initially, a primary school was opened, and in 2009, a new educational institution was built.

The main activity of the villagers is agriculture, and some manage to harvest two crops in greenhouses in one year. The products grown in Konkino are sold in the city of Karakol.

The village is home to both Kyrgyz and Russians.
