In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, there is an area called "Kulagan-Tash."

Our correspondent Turmush learned that this place is located just 3 kilometers from the village of Svetlaya Polyana. It is also referred to as "Suiuu Tashy" (Stone of Love) and "Kyz-Kuyoo Mazar" (Tomb of the Lovers). This location is documented in the district's encyclopedia. The main attraction is a huge stone with a diameter of about 10 meters, around which a willow tree grows. "Kulagan-Tash" is situated at the confluence of the Juu-Ku-Suu and Kashka-Suu rivers, and local residents claim that the silhouette of a house can be seen on the surface of the stone. Many consider this place a "mazar" (tomb).

According to legend, the girl's father opposed her love for an orphan and planned to marry her off to the son of a wealthy man. Upon learning this, the girl decided to run away with her beloved. Since the young man had no relatives, they intended to hide with an uncle who lived in Naryn. On that day, the young man prepared a horse, and the lovers set off on their journey. However, the weather suddenly worsened, a heavy rain began, and the young couple took shelter under the stone. Suddenly, lightning struck, and the stone collapsed, burying the lovers beneath it.

When the girl's father and relatives learned of the terrible tragedy, they retrieved the bodies from under the stone and buried them nearby. The man felt guilty for the death of the lovers. Since then, this place has been known as "Kulagan-Tash" or "Kyz-Kuyoo Mazar."

Local residents note that those who know this legend stop here to say a prayer, and some claim that voices can be heard coming from the stone.
