Local vacationers note that these monuments immediately attract the attention of visitors exploring the area for the first time.
A Turmush correspondent had a conversation with the holidaymakers.
According to them, the monuments create an atmosphere in which the unity and friendship among the peoples of the 15 republics that once made up the Soviet Union can be felt.
“In our group, there are people from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. We stayed on the southern coast to enjoy the beauty of the Jeti-Oguz resort. This time, I was struck by memories of the past. While walking through the green gardens, I noticed the monuments that are installed in every corner. It creates a feeling of returning to the times when we lived in the Soviet Union,” shared her impressions Antonina Vladimirovna.
“Previously, this place was a camp, and all resorts had a similar past. These monuments remind us of good memories. Some of them are indeed outdated, but they show how much time has passed. This is also part of history, and no one can change it. When I saw them, I remembered my childhood and student years, the bright moments,” she added.
The resort is located in a picturesque pine forest, 28 kilometers southwest of Karakol and 30 kilometers south of Lake Issyk-Kul. It is situated on the northern slope of the Teskey Ala-Tuu mountain range at an altitude of 2200-2400 meters above sea level.
The mineral hot springs of this region are known for their healing properties. In 1910, a house with wooden baths was built here, and in 1931, the construction of the resort began, which was completed in 1940.
