The title "Село Ак-Суу" translates to "The Village of Ak-Suu" in English.

Ak-Suu Village

Ak-Suu Village, formerly Teploklyuchenka

Ak-Suu Village is located in the eastern part of the Issyk-Kul region, within the territory of the Teploklyuchensky rural district, approximately 9 kilometers from Karakol.

In the granite gorge of Ak-Suu, with a bottom width of 30-40 meters and slopes rising about 300 meters, flows the river of the same name, Ak-Suu. Not far from Jilandy — the Issyk-Kul Nature Reserve of the Teploklyuchen district — another river, Arashan, flows into Ak-Suu. The settlement was founded by Russian and Ukrainian settlers in the river valley of Arashan. In the past, it was known as the village of Teploklyuchenka. On its territory, there is a rehabilitation sanatorium for the recovery of children who have suffered from polio and suffer from paralysis.

The health resort was opened in the second half of the 1990s. The resort area has hot springs, the water of which is used for the treatment and recovery of sick children. The first mention of its healing properties was made by traveler, geographer, and president of the Russian Entomological Society, Pyotr Semenov-Tyan-Shansky.

Beyond the resort, the gorge widens, and the slopes are covered with fir and thuja forests, solitary barberry bushes, wormwood, and feather grass. Among its attractions are a moraine-glacial lake and Kashka-Suu, as well as two waterfalls with heights of 25 and 30 meters.

In the area of Ak-Suu Village, there is a gorge called Altyn-Arashan, which ends with the peak "Palatka," standing at 5022 meters.

Also, the road to the Altyn-Arashan gorge passes through Ak-Suu Village.

The period of the establishment of Soviet power in the settlement occurred under difficult conditions, as the local population was distrustful of it. The situation worsened further after the land reform, which caused a rebellion among the wealthy part of Teploklyuchenka. As a result of the confrontation, revolutionary committees were introduced, which operated until mid-November 1923.

In the past, the village belonged to the Przhevalsky district, then to the Tyup district, and only in 1971 did it become part of the Ak-Suu district, of which it is now the administrative center. Initially, sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, beekeeping, and grain processing developed here.

Several farms were engaged in honey production, as evidenced by data from 1925. At that time, there were about 10,000 bee families in the village. However, due to adverse weather conditions the following year, almost half of them perished. The Karakol executive committee exempted the beekeeping farm from taxes and loans until 1927. Today, beekeeping traditionally develops in Ak-Suu. Many residents have private apiaries and offer for sale propolis, wax, honey, and perga.

The village is notable for its picturesque surroundings, where the slopes of the gorge are covered with coniferous forests. These are adjacent to picturesque meadows, which in the summer are covered with a variety of herbs. The resort itself is located on the right bank of the Arashan River, in the valley where Ak-Suu lies.
