The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has not yet received a request to open Freedom Bank in Kyrgyzstan

In response to a request from the Akchabar portal, the National Bank noted that there are currently no official procedures for launching a new bank in Kyrgyzstan. This statement comes against the backdrop of information about Freedom Bank Kazakhstan's plans to establish a subsidiary in the country, which was initially reported in Forbes Kazakhstan.

According to the publication, the sole shareholder, Freedom Finance, has already approved the draft charter and business plan for the new bank, as well as proposed candidates for key management positions.

The regulator emphasized that for a foreign investor to create a new credit organization, it is necessary to obtain approval for the establishment of the bank and go through the licensing process.

It is worth noting that Freedom Holding Corp. already has a presence in the Kyrgyz financial market, providing brokerage services and electronic payments. However, at the moment, the group does not have a banking license in Kyrgyzstan.
