Since the start of the conflict in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, Carlson has become one of the most prominent figures among right-wing commentators condemning U.S. support for Israel. He has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the influence of the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee, claiming that this influence is a humiliation for American lawmakers and citizens.
Additionally, Carlson accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of openly stating his influence over the decisions of American leaders. He also criticized Christian Zionism, viewing it as a threat to Christianity in the U.S., pointing out that its supporters interpret the creation of Israel and military superiority as fulfillment of biblical mandates.
StopAntisemitism also noted that Carlson criticized pro-Israel commentator Ben Shapiro for prioritizing Israel's interests over domestic issues in the U.S. The organization believes that public pressure on those who criticize Israel is an effective method of combating such criticism.
Liora Reznichenko, the executive director of StopAntisemitism, previously stated that the activities of their group create long-term consequences for the reputation of those they consider violators. She claimed that under pressure from the pro-Israel organization, at least 400 people, including academics, activists, and journalists, lost their jobs.
Under pressure from the group was also children's educator Rachel Griffin Accurso, widely known as Miss Rachel. StopAntisemitism accused her of antisemitism after she published materials about the suffering of Palestinian children in Gaza. According to the International Rescue Committee, at least 20,000 children have died in the region, and it has the highest number of amputees among children per capita.
