The company "Gazprom" plans to significantly increase the volumes of natural gas supplies to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. According to forecasts by analysts from the Economic Forecasting Center of Gazprombank, by 2030, the volumes may reach 19-20 billion cubic meters per year, which is also confirmed by industry sources, according to information from oilcapital.ru.

The largest increase is expected in Uzbekistan, where gas consumption may rise from 3 billion cubic meters to 12 billion cubic meters per year. This is associated with population growth, an increase in industrial production, and a decrease in domestic methane production.

Kazakhstan is also counting on an increase in supplies of Russian gas. In 2026, the volumes may rise to 10 billion cubic meters, which will help improve the energy balance and meet the needs of industry and housing and communal services. Additionally, Kazakhstan plays a role as a transit country, providing gas supply for Uzbekistan and possibly Kyrgyzstan.
According to experts, the increase in supplies to Central Asia is a strategic response to the reduction of gas exports to Europe in recent years. Given the decrease in supply volumes to Western markets, Gazprom is striving to find new sales directions while maintaining the load of its gas transportation system.

Since the beginning of 2025, Russia has already increased gas supplies to Uzbekistan by 15% compared to the previous year. This growth is due to the rising demand from the energy sector and industry. In 2024, Gazprom exported about 5.64 billion cubic meters to Uzbekistan, which is significantly higher than the figures for 2023, when supplies were just beginning.

The growth in gas consumption in Central Asia is also linked to the economic development of the region. International experts predict that the economies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan will grow by 50-60% over the next 5-6 years. This will lead to an increase in demand for natural gas as an energy source and raw material for production. Long-term plans include the development of transit infrastructure in Kazakhstan, where supplies of Russian gas could reach 11 billion cubic meters per year by 2038. This will optimize logistics and ensure reliable gas transit for Central Asia.
