Political scientist Mars Sariev, in his comment for IA "Kabar," emphasized that the People's Kurultai plays an important role in strengthening and consolidating the political system of Kyrgyzstan. This institution of popular representation finds support and trust among citizens and is capable of effectively interacting with the authorities to address various issues.
Sariev noted that a system is forming in the country that resembles a bicameral representation. While the Jogorku Kenesh focuses on legislative activities, the People's Kurultai provides a platform for the direct representation of citizens' interests at the local level.
This approach strengthens the political foundation of power: on one side is the parliament, which engages in lawmaking, and on the other side is the Kurultai, which allows the authorities to directly perceive the life of the people without distortions and intermediaries. This gives the country's leadership the opportunity to receive real information about the situation in the regions, rather than relying solely on formal reports, which is critically important for making informed decisions," added Mars Sariev.
