Tokon Mamytov, a state and political figure, noted in an interview with IA "Kabar" that the People's Kurultai serves not only as a means of uniting society but also as an effective tool for interaction between the government and citizens.
According to him, the current format of the People's Kurultai sends an important political signal, demonstrating the president's openness to direct communication with the population on the most pressing and controversial issues, without pre-established topics and traditional press conference formats. Mamytov believes that this is a step towards institutionalizing public discontent and criticism, translating them from an informal space (social networks, rumors, street sentiments) into a more manageable public form.
The expert emphasizes several key points that indicate the authorities' intention to actively address the issues raised by the public rather than evade them.
"Discussing any topics of interest to the people always carries a risk, but it is also a bold step on the part of the authorities. This demonstrates a rejection of controlled communication and a willingness to openly discuss the real and objective problems of society," Mamytov added.
This approach shows that the president does not intend to impose bureaucratic restrictions in dialogue (what can be said and what cannot) and is personally ready to hear the opinions and problems of citizens. This creates discipline and serves as an example for the management apparatus of the republic.
In the context of the shortcomings of the party system, the limited role of parliament, and low trust in the media, the Kurultai effectively takes on the functions of a compensatory mechanism for public communication and dialogue.
Mamytov emphasizes the importance of the president's readiness to listen and transform the real and objective problems expressed at the Kurultai into appropriate solutions and measures.
