According to official statistics, 11% of the population in Kyrgyzstan faces mental health issues caused by negative information. This was reported by Health Minister Erkin Checheybaev in an interview with the news agency "Kabar".

The minister noted that the number of people seeking help at mental health centers is significant, but there are even more citizens who do not seek assistance.

“Not everyone who seeks help can be characterized as mentally ill. Many of them suffer from conditions such as anxiety, depression, and nervous system disorders,” added Erkin Checheybaev, emphasizing that a similar situation is observed in many countries.

One of the key reasons for this situation is the excessive amount of negative content in the media.

“Today, people are not interested in positive news; they prefer negative. Bloggers and journalists often spread such materials to attract a larger audience and more subscribers. Additionally, modern individuals face numerous decisions every day, leading to mental fatigue. The brain operates in an endless mode, which creates stress. As a result, many simply cannot cope with it,” the minister explained.
