Erkin Checheybaev, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, recently shared his thoughts on the current state of the country's healthcare system in an episode of the "Kabar Podcast." He compared it to a chronic illness that requires long-term treatment.

According to him, problems in the field of medicine exist not only in Kyrgyzstan but in most countries around the world. "Almost no country can boast of a perfect healthcare system. Such examples are extremely rare, as people encounter various illnesses throughout their lives and require medical assistance," the minister noted.

Checheybaev also pointed out that the burden on the healthcare system changes at different stages of life: during childhood and after the age of 60, the number of visits to doctors increases. At the same time, there is a relative decrease in such visits during the active young adulthood.
He emphasized that the process of developing healthcare must be continuous.

“The healthcare system should be developed daily. It requires care and attention, just like the human body. Just as we monitor diseases and strive to treat them, we must also monitor and develop our healthcare system,” Checheybaev added.
