- At the IV People's Kurultai, which took place on December 25 in Bishkek, a delegate from Chon-Kemin, Dastan Dunkanaev, raised the issue of the Dolpran gold deposit, which is causing great concern among local residents.

He noted that previously, during geological exploration, there was an incident involving the detention of the head of a Chinese company, who was accused of damaging pasture lands. Despite this, a final decision on the fate of the Dolpran deposit has still not been made.

“People are worried about this situation. According to available information, the deposit contains 5 tons of gold, for which a 20-year license is required for three sites. If the project is implemented, it will threaten about 4,000 hectares of pastures and more than 100 water sources, which is particularly dangerous as the site is located near residential areas,” he emphasized.

Dunkanaev also reported that residents would prefer an alternative solution: instead of gold mining, to consider the possibility of building small hydropower plants. There are already entrepreneurs in Chon-Kemin ready to invest in such projects. They propose creating a cascade of small hydropower plants, which, according to local residents, would be safer for the ecology and health of the population than gold mining, even despite the potential income.
Reference Information:

The Dolpran deposit is located in the Kemin district, and according to registry data, its reserves amount to 1.3 tons of gold.

The license for the development of the deposit belongs to the company OsOO "Kemin Resource Group," founded on July 5, 2021. The founder is Hainan Huayao-Jinbao Mining Management LLC, and the director is Tian Dazzy.

According to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), on November 25, the general director of the company "T.D." was detained. During an inspection at the Dolpran deposit, environmental violations were identified: 14,398.6 m² of land was damaged, there were discrepancies with the technical project and the conditions of the licensing agreement, as well as the provision of false data on reserves.
