Deputy Dastan Jumabekov
At a joint meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Jumabekov proposed the introduction of additional taxes on gold mining.
“In 2020, the price of an ounce of gold was 1,550 dollars, and today it has risen to 4,450 dollars. Meanwhile, our laws have not changed. I propose to amend the Tax Code to introduce additional taxes on gold mining, as well as to increase the amounts of royalties and rates that companies must pay into funds,” he noted.
In response, the head of the cabinet of ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, reminded that in 2012, when changes were made to the Tax Code, it was stated that rates for funds would increase in accordance with the rise in gold prices, although he promised to reconsider this issue once again.
