In the Issyk-Kul region, in the Jeti-Oguz district, a festival called "Ak Ilbirs" will take place. This was announced by the district akim Ermek Bakhaidinov, who emphasized that the event will be held at the Ak-Tash pasture and is aimed at developing winter tourism.

According to Bakhaidinov, the main goal of the festival is to activate winter tourism in the region. The organizers plan to set up ice rinks and hold national games of salburun. Preparation for the festival is being carried out in collaboration with the organizing committee and local residents, including the village council of the Orgochor rural district. Additionally, as part of the festival, work is planned to extract a jade boulder in the village of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu.

Nurdin Jusupov, the head of the Orgochor village council, noted that there are plans to uncover jade reserves in the area, estimated to be more than 620 tons. The work will be carried out using special equipment and will involve changing the course of the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu River.

Local activist Zhanibek Tabyldiev is also preparing for the festival; he plans to offer tourists rides on a decorated horse-drawn carriage styled like a snow leopard.

In 2013, a jade boulder weighing about 100 tons was discovered in the village of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu. According to the State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources of Kyrgyzstan, photographs of this find were provided. A special commission was created to verify the jade discovery and was dispatched to the site.

As a result of field studies, samples were collected for mineralogical analysis. However, according to the State Agency's conclusions, the single sample had no practical value. Nevertheless, local residents decided to guard the find against possible theft and expressed their speculations about the stone's value if studies confirm its authenticity as jade. They even mentioned amounts ranging from 7 to 10 million dollars for infrastructure improvements.

In 2013, the find was concealed underwater. State Geology specialist Ivan Malukhin pointed out the likelihood that it is jadeite—a low-quality rock, 90% of which is underwater. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility that the boulder could contain high-quality jade.

In August 2013, the State Agency confirmed that the rock has a very distant relationship to jade. After analysis, specialists concluded that it is jadeite, which can be used as a decorative material, although with limitations due to its fissures and weak coloration.

The issue of profit distribution from the jade deposit development was also discussed in the Jogorku Kenesh in 2014. Experts in 2022-2023 estimated the cost of jade extraction at 2-5 dollars per kilogram, while the price on the world market can reach from 10 to 20 thousand dollars per kilogram, depending on the grade and quality, especially highly valued in China.
