At today's meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Speaker Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu discussed issues related to tenders, emphasizing their negative impact on construction.
According to him, regardless of the type of buildings being constructed — whether they are schools, kindergartens, or other social facilities — the tender process creates numerous obstacles. “People are tired of these lengthy procedures that can drag on for two to three months, leading to delays in construction. We need to revise the legislation regarding tenders. I believe that tenders should not be held, as this will speed up and improve the execution of work,” the speaker noted.
Turghunbek uulu also mentioned that he has already discussed this issue with the president. He urged cabinet members to urgently prepare a draft law to abolish the tender procedure for consideration by the Jogorku Kenesh.
“This issue was raised two years ago, but at that time, only the name was changed without altering the essence. Therefore, it is necessary to resolve this problem as soon as possible. Construction should be carried out without tenders, through direct purchases. If there are mistakes, the heads of institutions should be held accountable,” he added.
