The village of Yuriyevka, located within the Sın-Tash rural district of the Issyk-Ata region, was named in honor of Yuri Pavlovich Pogodin.

According to local legends, in March 1915, civil servant Yuri Pogodin was engaged in the distribution of land plots among peasants. He facilitated the development of arable land, the sowing of wheat, and the advancement of animal husbandry. That same year, by the decision of the farmers themselves, the settlement was named Yuriyevka — in honor of the man who played a significant role in its establishment.

The brief history of the village was shared by the head of the library No. 6 in Yuriyevka, Almakhan Bilyalovna Daldayeva.

According to her, after the establishment of Soviet power, the first party organization was created in the village, with V.D. Beryzyuk elected as the party organizer. The first head of the military commissariat was D.P. Nelasov. In 1918, the first teacher named Mak began working in the village. At that time, Yuriyevka had about 90 households. The residents were cultivating the allocated lands, engaging in agriculture and animal husbandry.

According to Daldayeva, the territory of the village has more ancient roots and was previously known by the Turkic name "Kara-Suu." Yuriyevka is located on the road to the famous resort "Issyk-Ata" and has been situated on one of the branches of the Great Silk Road since ancient times. Caravans crossing mountain passes traveled along these roads.

The proximity to the Issyk-Ata River, clean springs, and lakes, along with a mild climate featuring warm winters and cool summers, make the area favorable for tourism development. There are opportunities for placing yurts, guest houses, and creating recreational areas at the foot of the mountains and along water bodies.

The village actively engages in national sports — ulak tartysh, horse racing, freestyle wrestling, football, and volleyball. In 2021, a mini-football field was built for the youth.

Yuriyevka is located on the eastern bank of the Issyk-Ata River — a left tributary of the Big Chui Canal, southeast of the city of Kant, at a distance of 19 km from the center. The elevation above sea level is 1020 meters. The population of the village is 7313 people, with the number of households being 1068.

Yuriyevka has a secondary school named after Ruslan Shabatoyev, built in 1964, a House of Culture (1971), which houses the village library. There is also a mosque and two kindergartens, one of which is private. The state kindergarten for 70 children was built in 1956. The old hospital dates back to 1946, and in 2023, a new building was put into operation, where a group of family doctors was established.

The main source of income for local residents remains agriculture and animal husbandry.
