The Cabinet plans to build and launch an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Sokuluk by September 30.

- In the Sokuluk district of the Chui region, the establishment of a factory for the production of electric vehicles is planned. This became known from the official work plan of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026.

According to information from the ministry, the electric vehicle assembly plant is expected to start operations by September 30, 2026, attracting private investments.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chui region, and the National Investment Agency are responsible for the implementation of this project.

Additionally, the document states that by December 30, certification of electric vehicles produced in the republic will be conducted, allowing manufacturing plants to obtain the necessary product certificates. The responsibility for completing this task has been assigned to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Funding for these activities will be provided from the republican budget.

Context

In 2024, Arslan Baziyev, head of the industrial policy department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, shared information in a radio interview that in 2025, an automotive plant will begin operations in Sokuluk, which will produce vehicles under the Kyrgyz brand.

According to the official, the construction of the plant is being carried out in cooperation with the Chinese company Jaecoo.
