The workshop specializes in sewing school uniforms for children, creating dowries for brides, and making carpets. Initially, 8 seamstresses worked here, but now 5 women have found permanent employment.
“At the end of 2024, I became a participant in a project that helped me acquire a sewing machine. Since 2013, I have been interested in sewing, went through training, and gained experience, which motivated me to start my own business. This not only helps improve the financial situation of women but also allows them to stay close to their children without having to leave for work. Our village is far from urban centers, so local residents can receive the necessary services without traveling to the city. We sew school uniforms, create dowries for girls, make mattresses, curtains, carpets, and much more. We also prepare traditional toshoks. People who are preparing their daughters for marriage or planning celebrations can do everything here without going far. We tried ordering cutting from outside, but it turns out to be too expensive, and our profits significantly decrease,” Mahabat shared.
She actively participates in trainings and projects. At first, Mahabat sewed on her own and did clothing alterations. Before opening her workshop, she trained with an experienced master from Leilek to acquire the necessary skills.
“I hope for further expansion and the creation of new jobs. In spring, the number of orders for dresses, trousers, and other products increases,” Dubanaeva added.
Mahabat has two sons and two daughters. One of her sons is already married and has children.
Currently, Dubanaeva manages a women's sewing workshop called “Kyzgaldak.”
