As reported on March 18, the press service of the Osh City Department of Internal Affairs announced the initiation of a criminal case against a group of individuals engaged in issuing cash loans at deliberately high interest rates, followed by the illegal re-registration of real estate and property of borrowers in their name.
During the initial investigative actions, it was revealed that the pawnshop owners, using predatory terms in their agreements, coerced citizens into the illegal sale of pledged property. According to preliminary data, they exploited the dire financial situation of clients by offering loans under extremely unfavorable conditions with the aim of seizing their assets.
As a result of operational activities conducted by the criminal investigation department, two individuals, B.O. and K.K., suspected of this activity, were detained.
The investigation decided to place the detainees in a temporary detention facility for 48 hours. Thus, on March 9, 2026, the Osh City Court issued a ruling for a two-month arrest of citizen K.K., while for B.O., considering his health condition, a preventive measure of house arrest was chosen.
The investigation is ongoing, and operatives are working to identify other possible participants in the criminal group.
