At a recent briefing held following the sessions of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Liu Jianping, emphasized that the timelines for the implementation of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, which covers the period from 2026 to 2030, coincide with Kyrgyzstan's National Development Program until 2030. She noted that the key directions and ideas of these two programs have much in common.
The ambassador reported on the Chinese side's readiness to actively promote the strengthening of strategic interaction with Kyrgyzstan, as well as to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, transport connectivity, scientific and technological exchanges and innovations, agriculture, as well as in humanitarian and cultural matters.
"Both countries are focusing on artificial intelligence, high technologies, modern agriculture, and the digital economy. Given our mutual interest, our cooperation should concentrate on these key sectors, where there are numerous opportunities for interaction. We are actively seeking new directions for growth, deepening and expanding our cooperation. I am confident that over the next five years, the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China will reach a new level, improving not only in terms of trade turnover and investments but also in the quality and structure of joint projects," Liu Jianping added in an interview with the Kabar agency.
It should be noted that the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) represents a general plan for China's development, which was officially launched on March 13, 2026, after being approved at the "two sessions" in Beijing.
If the previous 14th Five-Year Plan focused on overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and stabilizing the economy, the new Five-Year Plan aims at technological progress and "smart" modernization.
