At the time of the incident, there were visitors in the zoo, some of whom recorded the shocking event on video. According to the zoo, the young man scaled a 6-meter wall and descended from a tree directly into the enclosure, where he was immediately attacked by the lioness.
Law enforcement authorities were able to identify the deceased. Preliminary data suggests that the young man was suffering from a mental disorder.
Following this tragic incident, the zoo closed its doors to visitors, and the date of its reopening is currently unknown.
