A man was fishing at the entrance to the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station — a falling stone from the slope led to a tragic death

The police are conducting an investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in the Naryn River three days after his disappearance.

According to information provided to Turmush by the Internal Affairs Department of the Jalal-Abad region, on November 19 at around 21:00, a report of an accident was received at the police station in the city of Kara-Kul. A 54-year-old man named E.U. fell into the Naryn River when a rock fell on him from a steep slope while he was fishing.

The incident was registered, and a preliminary investigation was initiated by the police department in Kara-Kul. At the same time, search operations were organized to find E.U.

As a result of the search efforts, which continued until November 23, at around 14:50, the body of the 54-year-old man was discovered in the Naryn River, approximately 1.933 kilometers downstream from the accident site.

Further investigation into this case is currently underway.
Turmush previously reported that the tragedy occurred in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. The man went fishing in the Naryn River, near the Toktogul hydroelectric cascade. On November 20, it became known that the 54-year-old fisherman had fallen into the river. His body was found three days after the incident. More than 100 people participated in the search. Preliminary data indicates a rockfall in the area of the slope, which prevented the man from reacting quickly and avoiding falling into the water.
