At an exhibition in Beijing organized by blogger Zhang Kaiyi and her husband, an incident occurred involving a child who dropped an expensive exhibit, reports RBC, citing the Daily Mail.
Published photographs show the boy touching the display case, after which he likely knocked into the protective glass, which fell to the floor along with the artifact.
It is specified that the item in question is a wedding decoration — a handmade gold crown created by Zhang Kaiyi's husband. This item was not intended for sale, so its value is difficult to determine. The blogger emphasizes that the crown holds special significance for her, and she has sought advice on how to assess the damage caused.
Later, Zhang Kaiyi stated that the crown was insured. She does not intend to file claims against the child and his parents, nor demand compensation.
Well-known Chinese media, citing an expert (whose name has not been disclosed), estimated the value of the crown. According to the specialist, the item is made from approximately 2 kg of gold, and its minimum valuation is £21,170 (about 2.8 million rubles), while the maximum value could reach £42,339 (approximately 4.5 million rubles), depending on the final assessment.
Zhang Kaiyi also noted that admission to the exhibition was free, so the event did not generate any financial income.
