The conflict began when Murat Emir, the deputy chairman of the CHP faction, attacked AK Party deputy Mustafa Varank. Soon, other parliamentarians from both parties joined the fight, leading to a mass brawl.

The incident was brought to a halt thanks to the intervention of other deputies. Despite the conflict, the central government's budget bills for 2026 and the final report for 2024 were passed: 320 votes in favor and 249 against.
This incident was not the first altercation in the Turkish parliament: in 2022, there were also scuffles during budget discussions.

The brawl lasted about 10 minutes, after which the Speaker of Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, decided to temporarily suspend the session.
