The new authorities focus on the oil industry
After the overthrow of Nicolás Maduro, the management of Venezuela will be under the control of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This was reported by Bloomberg, based on information from an unnamed American source, published on Sunday, January 4. Rubio, who is of Cuban descent, was born in Miami to Cuban immigrants, as noted by DW.
According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of Venezuela's oil sector, stating that American oil companies will invest billions of dollars in restoring the country's oil infrastructure.
Currently, Trump's team, which includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, is working on creating a new management structure for Venezuela, as reported by a senior U.S. official in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
