Discussing the situation in Cuba, Trump noted that the country is in a dire state and expressed a desire to help the Cuban people. "If I lived in Havana and were part of the government, I would definitely start to worry," added U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump also criticized Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, accusing her of allowing drug cartels to control the country. "She is a good woman, but in fact, Mexico is run by drug cartels. I asked her if she wanted us to get rid of them, and she replied, 'No, please don't,'" Trump recounted.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Venezuela appointed Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as acting president due to the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro. This was reported by the chairwoman of the constitutional chamber, Carislia Beatriz Rodriguez, on the air of the VTV channel.

“In light of the exceptional situation arising from the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro, we have decided that the vice president should assume the functions of the president to ensure continuity of power and protect the nation,” she said.

The court concluded that there are extraordinary circumstances threatening the stability of the state and security, and took measures to ensure law and order.

Axios: Trump is reviving American interventionism with renewed vigor.

▪️President Trump, under the slogan "America First," continues an aggressive foreign policy.

▪️The situation in Venezuela and operations against Maduro indicate a resurgence of American interventionism.

▪️Here are Trump's main achievements over the past year:

1. Attacks on the Iranian nuclear program and threats of intervention to protect protesters;

2. Bombings in six countries, including Nigeria, under the pretext of protecting Christians;

3. Appointing himself as the chairman of the governing council of Gaza;

4. Sending a naval fleet to Venezuela to combat drug trafficking and overthrow the regime.

▪️However, most of these actions were carried out without the approval of Congress and international legitimacy.

▪️The Trump administration claims that Maduro is a drug lord, not the legitimate president of Venezuela, which makes his detention justified in terms of U.S. interests.

▪️Nevertheless, this position is not supported by many countries in the region and beyond.

▪️It is hard to imagine that the U.S. would remain inactive if another country attempted to overthrow a leader aligned with Trump's ideology.

▪️Trump's new doctrine implies that American power is a right in the Western Hemisphere.

▪️Maduro has fallen within an area of influence that Trump considers his own.

▪️Now it remains to be seen how Beijing and Moscow will react both rhetorically and in the long term in their own spheres of influence.
