After the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Donald Trump held a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, where he emphasized that this operation should serve as a signal to all who threaten the security of the United States and its sovereignty.

Trump stated: "This successful operation should be a lesson for all who jeopardize the lives of Americans and the sovereignty of our country."

He also noted that Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, would soon face American justice. "They will have to confront the full weight of the law in the U.S.," the president added.

In Trump's opinion, the actions of the Venezuelan leader posed a threat not only to the U.S. but to the entire region. "Maduro will no longer be able to threaten any American citizen or anyone from Venezuela. We will no longer tolerate threats," he declared.

Speaking about Washington's intentions, Trump noted that the U.S. seeks to establish peace, freedom, and justice for the people of Venezuela, including those living in the United States who wish to return to their homeland.

Strikes on the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, were carried out on the night of January 3. Shortly after this, Trump confirmed the information about Maduro's capture and his removal from the country.

According to CBS News, the capture occurred thanks to the actions of American special forces. Maduro faced charges of "narcoterrorism," cocaine trafficking, and illegal possession of weapons.

On Saturday, Trump provided detailed information about the operation and its objectives at a press conference in Mar-a-Lago.
