The visit to the Biocomplex enterprise and the State Laboratory for Testing and Certification of Veterinary Drugs took place with the participation of the Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, Badamsuren Myagmarsuren. At the Biocomplex production site, 44 types of liquid vaccines, 21 types of dry vaccines, 20 diagnostic agents, and three types of diluents are produced.
In 2022, with the financial support of the World Bank and a concessional investment loan, two projects were successfully implemented: the introduction of vaccine production technology using linear cells and the automation of liquid vaccine packaging, which contributed to the modernization of production processes.
In the future, a comprehensive modernization of the workshop engaged in the production of dry vaccines is planned, which will require 3.5 billion tugriks.
The State Laboratory for Testing and Certification of Veterinary Drugs received accreditation last year under three international standards.
During the reporting period, the laboratory conducted tests and analyses of 769 batches of veterinary drugs, biopreparations, and feed additives, which included 419 product names from 72 manufacturers, and issued the corresponding certificates.
Laboratory staff noted the need to reconsider the decision to merge with the State Central Veterinary and Sanitary Laboratory. Many issues were also discussed, including support for the work of qualified personnel and the inclusion of costs for expensive standard substances in the state budget.
The Minister instructed the need to improve coordination between organizations, develop detailed business development plans, ensure targeted use of the approved annual budget and resources for the implementation of technological innovations, as well as strict compliance with storage and transportation procedures for vaccines until their delivery to pastures.
In addition, Minister Badamsuren highlighted attracting funding as one of the main priorities of his department, emphasizing its importance for ensuring animal vaccination, food safety, and successful meat product exports.
