As part of the fight against the spread of infectious diseases, the State Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, operating under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, is strengthening control at livestock markets and large farms.

According to new guidelines, bringing animals to the market without a veterinary certificate is a serious violation. This rule is based on the necessity to prevent outbreaks of infections, as livestock markets often become centers of diseases among animals. To obtain a veterinary document, livestock must be equipped with an ear tag, and horses must have a mandatory chip.

Animals without the appropriate accompanying documents are not allowed on the market premises. Penalties for non-compliance with these requirements are set at 5,500 soms for individuals and 17,500 soms for legal entities. Drivers transporting livestock must also remember that the transportation and import of animals without veterinary documents is strictly prohibited.

In case of violations, the responsible individuals will be held accountable in accordance with the law. The State Service strongly urges citizens to comply with veterinary standards to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases among animals.
