On the air of "Birinchi Radio," the head of the Department of Disease Prevention and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dinagul Otorbaeva, spoke about why people can get sick multiple times during the flu and ARVI season.

According to recent data, in the 49th week (from December 1 to 5), the country recorded 42,561 cases of ARVI and flu. This is 15.3% more compared to the previous week, when 37,066 cases were registered. Of all the sick, 72.1% are children under 14 years old (15,029 cases).

Otorbaeva noted: "People often ask: 'I recovered, but got sick again.' This is due to the fact that the basic preventive measures we talk about are not being followed. A person who has had one type of virus can become infected with another by interacting with someone who has similar symptoms. If precautionary measures are not followed, constant reinfection is possible, as if you are sick for a month or two," she explained.

She urged everyone to use antiseptics, wash their hands and nose thoroughly, and wear masks. "These simple measures are forgotten. They must be followed constantly, as there are many types of respiratory viral infections," added the head of the Department of Disease Prevention and Epidemiological Surveillance.
