According to Alfredo Romero, head of Foro Penal, human rights defenders are currently working to identify the names of those released.
This group of prisoners is the latest to be freed after the U.S. began to pressure Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. On Friday, Delcy Rodríguez, the interim president of the country, reported that more than 600 prisoners had been released; however, Foro Penal claims that these figures are inflated.
Among those released are representatives of the Venezuelan opposition and five citizens of Spain, whose identities were previously confirmed.
