At an event at the White House, Trump said: "A large armada is heading towards Iran, a flotilla — call it what you want — even more than what we had with Venezuela."

According to The New York Times, Trump received from the Pentagon a list of possible military actions against Iran, which includes strikes on the country's nuclear and missile facilities, as well as operations aimed at weakening the Iranian government.

However, Western intelligence agencies have not confirmed the existence of active Iranian nuclear weapons programs. There is evidence that high-level uranium enrichment or other activities related to the development of warheads have not been recorded.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously expressed Tehran's readiness to resume negotiations with the U.S. on the nuclear program, but only on the condition that Trump stops his threats of new attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Last year, negotiations between Iran and the U.S. on the nuclear program took place with the mediation of Oman, but they were interrupted in June after strikes by Israel and the U.S. on Iranian facilities.
