In response to questions about the alleged number of casualties, which, according to Western media, ranges from 2,500 to 12,000, Araghchi noted that the real figures "are in the hundreds." He pointed out that the majority of the violence was provoked by terrorists who infiltrated the protests and opened fire on police and civilians to increase the number of casualties and draw the U.S. into the conflict.
“President Trump stated his readiness to intervene in case of killings. They were trying to draw him in. It was indeed a conspiracy on the part of Israel,” the minister added.
Araghchi also emphasized that Iranian authorities fully control the current situation and do not intend to carry out mass executions of protest participants. He assured that "calm" has now been established in the country.
