In his recent speech, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei criticized Donald Trump, emphasizing that the U.S. president should remember the fate of those who have ever held power but ultimately were overthrown. "Tyrants, such as Pharaoh and Nimrod, were destroyed at the peak of their arrogance," he noted, adding that Trump could face a similar fate.

Additionally, Khamenei accused the American president of being responsible for the deaths of over a thousand Iranians and criticized the protesters, who, according to him, are willing to harm their own country for external approval. He dismissed Trump's statements of support for the protesters and urged him to pay attention to the issues existing within the United States.

"The U.S. president claims he will side with the protesters if Iran takes certain steps. He would be better off managing his own country, which already has enough difficulties," Khamenei said.

The protests in Iran, which began on December 28, continue and have spread to the main bazaar in Tehran, where merchants stopped working in protest against the sharp rise in prices and hyperinflation. The next day, the exchange rate of the Iranian rial fell to an all-time low, reaching about 0.00002 euros per rial.

Earlier, Khamenei emphasized the need for strict measures against the protesters. According to the human rights organization IHRNGO, at least 45 people have died in the first 12 days of protests, including eight minors; hundreds have been injured, and more than 2,000 people have been detained since December 28, 2025.
