Clemence Gethé, serving as the Vice President of the lower house of the French Parliament, announced her intention to bring forward a resolution proposing France's withdrawal from NATO. She wrote about this on her page on the social network X.

The politician noted that the question of France's participation in NATO, the military alliance led by the United States, has become particularly relevant. "I am proposing a resolution that calls for our country's exit from the North Atlantic Alliance, starting with the unified command," her statement reads.

Gethé also emphasized that her opinion has been influenced by recent actions of Washington on the international stage, specifically mentioning the incident involving the attempted capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by American military forces.

Additionally, in her statement, she criticized the military support that the U.S., in her view, provides for the "genocide in Palestine," and also spoke out against President Donald Trump's threats of armed annexation of Greenland.

Previously, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed the view that the U.S. is moving away from international norms. He criticized Washington's foreign policy during Trump's administration, noting that the United States is distancing itself from its allies and risks becoming a "den of thieves."
