The country has decided to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention, which has sparked a wave of protests throughout the republic.

In the capital, Riga, about 10,000 people took to the streets, expressing their dissatisfaction with the slogan "Betrayal!".

Recall that on October 31, the Saeima of Latvia voted to withdraw from the convention. However, President Edgars Rinkēvičs did not sign the bill, and the issue has been postponed for a year.
