This approach may lead to an increase in the rat population
In Bishkek, the authorities have initiated the culling of stray cats along with dogs. However, the city's residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with these measures.
“It seems they want us to face a rat invasion, as has already happened in Almaty. There, rodents are entering homes through the sewage system. Why are cats being targeted? They do not form packs and do not pose a threat to people. In Turkey, they care for stray cats, while here we are talking about their extermination,” residents share their thoughts in a conversation with Vesti.kg.
Earlier, Bishkek also discussed the possibility of limiting the number of pets and designating special areas for their walks.
