Providers must relocate and lay communication lines underground
In Bishkek, the city administration has addressed internet providers with a demand to remove cables installed on the facades of buildings.
“In accordance with the implementation of the second stage of the capital's design code and the resolution of the Bishkek City Council No. 134 dated May 14, 2024, ‘On the Approval of the Rules for the Placement and Operation of Information and Advertising Structures and Requirements for the Appearance of Building and Structure Facades in Bishkek,’ as well as within the framework of the ‘Azyk Asman’ concept, it is necessary to organize the engineering communications (fiber optic lines) that are chaotically placed on the facades,” the city administration noted.
The municipality called on internet providers to:
1. Conduct independent dismantling of cables located on the front (street) facades of buildings and structures.
2. Ensure the relocation and laying of communication lines underground or using internal installation along courtyard facades.
3. Bring external engineering networks into appropriate technical and aesthetic condition according to approved architectural requirements.
Currently, work is planned on such streets as: Jibek Jolu Avenue, Chuy Avenue, J. Abdrakhmanov Street, Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, and I. Akhunbaev Street.
“We also appeal to the residents of the capital to be active and contact their internet providers for the prompt elimination of violations related to the laying of cables on building facades.
In case of questions, it is recommended to contact the Bishkek Main Department of Urban Planning and Architecture
Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic at: Chokmorova St., 185, Urban Design Department: 31-29-90,” the city administration added.
