According to the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, the United States and Israel are responsible for organizing unrest in the country. This statement was made available through the state agency IRIB.

In the official message, it is noted: "The protests of recent days, which began with peaceful actions, were undermined by the plans of the Zionist enemy, leading to a threat to security in the country. Donald Trump's statements also confirm the joint actions of these two regimes, undermining the security of the Iranian people."

The Security Council emphasized that law enforcement agencies and the judiciary will no longer show leniency towards participants in the unrest.

Recently, following calls from Reza Pahlavi, a descendant of the overthrown Shah in 1979, protest marches took place in Iran. Social media was filled with videos capturing mass actions that resulted in damage to private property and urban infrastructure.

According to Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani, during the unrest in the capital, 24 residential buildings, 25 mosques, two hospitals, and 26 banks were destroyed, and 48 fire trucks were burned. He also reported that protesters set fire to the prosecutor's car and obstructed the work of firefighters.

However, the Iranian agency Fars claimed that the protests were of a "limited" nature. Due to the unrest, the internet in the country was temporarily shut down, and several media outlets suspended news publication. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei referred to the protesters as a "handful of vandals," accusing them of destroying their own property.

The protests began in late December against the backdrop of a sharp devaluation of the Iranian currency and fluctuations in the exchange rate, which negatively affected prices. As a result, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, resigned.

In some regions, protesters clashed with police and shouted slogans against the current regime. There were reports of casualties among both law enforcement and protesters. According to the Tasnim agency, only on Thursday, two officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed during the unrest.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, at least 42 people have died as a result of the protests, and more than 2,270 have been detained.
