
Daler Juma noted that this year an improvement in electricity supply is expected compared to the previous year. He emphasized that the water level in the Nurek Reservoir is maintained at an optimal level to increase electricity production during the cold season. Currently, residents of the country receive electricity from 05:00 to 08:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00.
The head of the ministry also pointed out that after the reconstruction, the capacities of the Nurek and Kayrakkum hydropower plants have been increased. The modernization of the Kayrakkum HPP, completed in 2025, allowed its capacity to be increased by 60 MW, bringing it to a total of 174 MW.
In addition, the Ministry of Energy reports the commissioning of the third power unit of the Nurek HPP, which further increased its design capacity by 40 MW.
