
In 2025, a large number of criminal cases were reviewed in Uzbekistan: 15,992 people received reviews of unjust accusations. The press service of the Supreme Court of the Republic reported that many of the charges brought were either dismissed or replaced with less serious ones.
The judicial authorities reviewed 63,177 criminal cases involving 79,554 people. As a result, 63,340 were convicted, of which 18,816 received actual prison sentences.
During the court proceedings, 422 people were acquitted and rehabilitated. Additionally, 8,085 people were released directly in the courtroom, as they were assigned penalties not related to imprisonment. 993 convicts received suspended sentences. The application of the reconciliation institution allowed 13,200 defendants to avoid criminal liability.
According to statistics, among the convicted there are 55,829 men and 7,511 women. In the group of convicts, there are 23,973 young people, including 2,431 minors. Additionally, 2,830 convicts are citizens over 60 years old.
The largest number of cases concerned crimes related to fraud, traffic violations, and thefts. There is also a significant number of cases involving illegal drug-related activities without intent to sell, thefts, forgery of documents, illegal drug trafficking for sale, pimping, cultivation of prohibited crops, as well as intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm.
The main cases were considered in regions such as Tashkent, Fergana region, Tashkent region, Samarkand, and Namangan regions.
