The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has published an official statement in response to the recent attacks on oil tankers involved in oil export transportation.
The vessels Delta Harmony, Matilda, and Delta Supreme were targeted while in the waters of the Black Sea. The first two tankers were chartered for the transportation of Kazakh oil. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties among the crew members.
In its statement, the Ministry expressed "serious concern" regarding the drone attacks.
“At emergency meetings with ambassadors from several European countries, as well as during negotiations with representatives of the United States and other international partners, we emphasized the importance of taking effective measures to ensure the safety of hydrocarbon transportation, including maritime routes, in strict accordance with international law,” the press release stated.
It was also noted that Kazakhstan is not a participant in any armed conflict and actively contributes to strengthening global and European energy security by ensuring stable supplies of energy resources. All tankers had the necessary permits and were equipped with the required identification systems.
“The increase in the number of incidents indicates growing risks to international energy infrastructure. We call on our partners for closer cooperation to develop joint measures aimed at preventing such incidents in the future,” the ministry stated.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has already faced similar threats. On the morning of November 29, 2025, an attack by unmanned boats caused significant damage to the offshore mooring facility. Additionally, on the night of November 25, a drone strike occurred; however, according to the CPC press service, there were no casualties.
Furthermore, on September 24, 2025, a drone damaged the office of the marine terminal in Novorossiysk, and on February 17, an attack involving seven drones led to the failure of the Krupotkinskaya Pumping Station, one of the key facilities in the oil transportation system.
