As a result of drone attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, one of the major Russian facilities in Novorossiysk was damaged, which, according to Euronews, led to a temporary halt in oil exports from this port. Novorossiysk, through which about 2% of global oil supplies pass, is crucial for Russian export infrastructure.

The incident triggered a rise in global oil prices, which increased by more than 2%.

Although Russia has alternative routes for exports, Novorossiysk remains a strategically important port on the Black Sea, and its terminals have repeatedly been targeted by Ukrainian strikes.
