The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published an official statement regarding the situation at the Marine Terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

In the statement, it is emphasized that "the Ministry expresses protest in connection with yet another targeted attack on the critical infrastructure of the CPC, located in the waters of the port of Novorossiysk."

This is already the third case of aggression against facilities that have exclusively civilian purposes, which underscores the importance of adhering to international law, according to the ministry.

As a responsible member of the international energy community, Kazakhstan advocates for ensuring the stability and reliability of energy supplies, the agency added.

The CPC, as noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, plays a key role in maintaining global energy stability.

The ministry also noted that it views the incident as an action that could undermine bilateral relations with Ukraine and expects the Ukrainian side to take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

It is worth reminding that on November 29 at 07:06 (Bishkek time), there was an attack on the marine infrastructure facilities of the CPC in the area of Novorossiysk using unmanned vessels. As a result of the attack, the offshore mooring device VPU-2 sustained significant damage and has been temporarily taken out of service until repair work is completed.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan condemned such actions against civilian critical infrastructure facilities, calling them unacceptable. To minimize negative consequences and ensure continued production at major fields, the Ministry of Energy initiated emergency measures to redirect oil export volumes through alternative routes.
