The terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has once again been attacked, resulting in significant damage to the offshore mooring facility. This was reported by Tengrinews.

According to information provided by the CPC press service, the attack occurred on November 29 at 04:06 Moscow time (07:06 Bishkek time). As a result of a targeted strike carried out by unmanned boats, the offshore mooring device VPU-2 was damaged.

In February of this year, the "Kropotkinskaya" station of the CPC, through which Kazakh oil is also transported, was hit by Ukrainian drones. This incident led to significant restrictions on shipments. A repeat attack on "Kropotkinskaya" occurred in March. It later became known that Moscow and Kyiv reached an agreement on non-interference in the affairs of the CPC. The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs then expressed its concerns regarding the attacks on the consortium.

At the end of August, Ukrainian drones also attacked the Russian port of Ust-Luga, which is used for exports, including shipments of Kazakh oil.

ReferenceCaspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) includes major companies from the fuel and energy sector of Russia, the USA, Kazakhstan, and several Western European countries. The CPC is responsible for transporting oil from three major fields in Kazakhstan: Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak. It is projected that the transshipment volume in 2024 will be around 63 million tons of oil, of which approximately 74% will be sent to foreign shippers.
